#17175: File transfer not working
---------------------+----------------------------------------------
 Reporter:  idtzoli  |      Owner:  datallah
     Type:  defect   |     Status:  new
Milestone:           |  Component:  Bonjour
  Version:  2.11.0   |   Keywords:  file transfer windows 7 8 8.1 10
---------------------+----------------------------------------------
 Hi,

Something wrong with the file transfer on Windows 7-10, using the Bonjour
protocol. I tried every single setting in firewall, still not able to send
a file to an another Pidgin client on Windows XP. Receiving works fine
from the XP machine, using the same 2.11.0 version.
After two days of creating firewall rules, disabling IPv6 and many other
setting which I can't even remember, I started to install older versions
of the client. Starting from version 2.7.0-2.10.12 file transfer works as
a charm even from the Windows 10 PC. Upgrading to 2.11.0 instantly breaks
 it.
The symptoms are classic: I try to send a file, it pops up the file
transfer window both on the sending and receiving end, I accept the file
transfer and the moment I hit Save an information message pops up that the
 receiving end canceled the transfer.

The debug windows shows the following:
 (13:32:47) bonjour: Bonjour-bytestreams-init.
(13:32:47) network: getsockname: Windows socket error #10014
(13:32:47) network: Listening on port: 0
