shutting down hg.pidgin.im

Gary Kramlich
Greetings programs!

As most of you know I've been slowly moving everything over to
Bitbucket.  Today I moved a large portion of the Google Summer of Code
repositories over [1] and am hoping to finish the rest soon.

That said, I have now made hg.pidgin.im read-only for everyone.  Once I
have finished transferring the Google Summer of Code repositories (and
any others that remain) I will be adding an HTTP redirect to the
Bitbucket team [2].

[2] https://bitbucket.org/pidgin/

Thanks,

Wow, I like the organization per-project on the bitbucket team. Far better than the raw list of repositories we had on hg.pidgin.im.

Thanks Gary for making this changes, I hope this help us to organize our self better.

Hello,
I once tried to find the Pidgin 3 sources and failed to find that information.

Would it be possible to add a text to the top of hg.pidgin.im with
such information?

Thanks in Advance,
Pedro

The Pidgin 3 source is the default branch of pidgin/main.

such information?

I just checked https://developer.pidgin.im/wiki/UsingPidginMercurial which is where that information should be and it isn't.  I've added a note to come back around and take care of it.

Thanks in Advance,
Pedro

Thanks,

Hi folks,

Am I right to assume it is no longer possible to follow development via RSS? I had previously subscribed to an RSS feed from hg.pidgin.im but it appears Bitbucket doesn’t support RSS (?).

Regards,
Robbie

On the overview page, near the activity feed there's an rss icon, it
links to https://bitbucket.org/pidgin/main/rss  This would include all
activity, so if we start using the wiki or issue tracker there, they
will show up in the feed as well.

If there are no objections, I am proposing to take shutdown hg.pidgin.im
two weeks from today on 20160731.

I still need to figure out how to wire up commit emails, but you can
follow all development on the main repository via RSS [3] or by
following in on Bitbucket for now.

Just to confirm, by "shutdown hg.pidgin.im", do you mean replacing it
with redirects?

Correct and all of the repositories are already available on Bitbucket,
which are up to date because hg.pidgin.im has been read-only for awhile now.

Thanks,
